Jenkins installation in Windows

Jenkins installation in Windows is pretty easy task. If you are hesitant to install Jenkins this article will help you install this beautiful continuous integration(CI) tool in your Windows system. Lets begin the process in step by step –

Step 1

First of all you have to download Jenkins for Windows from https://jenkins.io/ . Once installer downloaded just double-click on the installer and install it in your desired directory path.

After installation completes, browser launched with localhost:8080 and create admin user page open so that you can create an admin user account and use that account further for Jenkins. But if you want to continue with default admin you can skip this step by clicking “Continue as admin” button and plugin selection page appears.

 

Step 3

Once plugin selection page appears, you can choose the first option unless you are fully aware of what you need to install. “Install suggested plugins” option is a curated list of plugins which are widely used across the community where as “Select plugins to install” list down all the supported plugins category wise and you have to manually select each and every plugins. Once the selection is completed you will be redirected to plugin installation page.

Step 4

Once you are on this page you are almost close to the completion of installation process. This page basically shows the progress of each and every selected plugins installation status, this page will take few seconds to minutes based on your range of plugin selection. Once all the plugins install properly you will be redirected to the setup completion page i.e,

And your Jenkins installation completes successfully, after that click on the “Start using Jenkins” button and you will be taken to the dashboard or home page, there you will be able to create your project, configure build process, configure further Jenkins settings as per your project needs and many more things.
